Talk to Your Data: Conversational Drug Repurposing

WORKSHOP 1
Repurposing lives or dies on connections nobody has made yet: a drug, a target, a disease, buried across literature, trial records and omics data that no single person can hold in their head. Generative AI promises to surface those links. It also invents them, confidently, and that is the part most workshops skip.
This hands-on session is about using AI for repurposing research without being misled by it. We will work through the tasks you actually do: triaging literature down to a shortlist worth reading, generating and stress-testing hypotheses, and running a real analysis end to end, from question to result to a write-up you could defend.
Throughout, the emphasis is on verification: where these tools break, how to spot a fabricated citation or a spurious association, and what you must always check against the source.
The thread running through the session is simple. Treat AI as an assistant you verify, never as an authority. Bring a laptop. No prior AI experience needed, and it is aimed at computational and experimental researchers alike, from PhD students to group leaders.

Navigating the RePo4EU platform: from questions to knowledge, tools and expertise
Balázs Orban
Egnosis (RO)
WORKSHOP 2
REPO4EU is designed as an integrated European infrastructure for mechanism-based and precision drug repurposing. In this workshop, participants will take a guided tour through the platform, exploring how its different domains, resources and tools are connected and how they can be used throughout the drug-repurposing journey. Using practical examples, we will demonstrate how to find relevant scientific knowledge, curated resources, decision guides, tools, publications, experts and institutional capabilities. The workshop will also highlight how the platform brings these elements together to support collaboration, knowledge discovery and more efficient drug-repurposing workflows.
